Dates are set for our 2009 video biography workshops -
sign up by the Early Bird deadline and save! |
If
you have a desire to learn hands-on video biography tips and techniques from the
pros, you'll want to join one or both of
Family Legacy Video's video biography events this April:
Create Your Own Video Biography (April 17-19): A comprehensive introduction to
the video biography production process. Steve is joined by video veterans Dan
Crapsi and Ginny Temple. You'll leave this three-day event with the
inspiration and information you need to start your own video biography project.
The Business of Video Biographies (April 20): Steve shares his experience
in the video bio business, answers your questions and helps you brainstorm
ideas for your personal history video business. Graphic designer Dan Blumenthal
shows how to create two keys to marketing success: a logo and a graphic identity
for your company.
Why attend a Family Legacy Video workshop?
Our workshops are unique - the only ones we know of that focus entirely
on the video biography process.
The workshops are comprehensive - leaving you with knowledge and hands-on
experience that will jumpstart your video biography hobby or business.
The workshops are great fun - you'll have a blast learning professional
video biography tips and techniques AND you'll meet some terrific people in the
process.
Family Legacy Video workshops don't happen every day - our April workshops
are the only ones we'll hold this year.
The Early Bird registration deadline is March 6. We need a minimum of 12
registrations by this date in order for the workshops to go forward. The earlier
we reach the minimum, the earlier we can give the "all clear" to buy those
non-refundable advance purchase tickets to Tucson. Plus, you'll save when you
sign up at the discounted Early Bird rate. If we don't reach the minimum, don't
worry. You'll receive a prompt refund.
You'll find complete details on Family Legacy Video's
workshop page.
One more thing - Tucson is a great place to visit in April. You'll find a
list of links to Tucson-area attractions at the bottom of the workshop page.
Don't wait - register today!

A very
special Family Legacy Video premiere. |
Bill
and Wilma Hansen marked two milestones in December, 2008. There was Bill's 80th
birthday, followed by the couple's twenty-ninth wedding anniversary. They
decided to celebrate by hosting a family reunion for their nearly 70 children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a reunion they dreamed would feature a
very special gift: the premiere of their life story on video.
Bill called Family Legacy Video in early autumn to see if we could make his
video biography dream a reality. Excited to be a part of such a special
occasion, Family Legacy Video swung into action. The two-camera interview shoot
took place in early October. The final hour and a half video biography was delivered
in time for the showing at the reunion dinner on December 28.
The Hansens invited Family Legacy Video's Steve Pender and his wife, Halina, to
the event, which was held at a local Tucson resort. After a delicious meal and a
few words of introduction from Bill, the lights dimmed and the couple's life
stories played on the big screen. Seated near Bill and Wilma, Steve could
clearly see they were enjoying the show. But what about the rest of the family?
The standing ovation at the close of the video answered that question. Bill even
asked Steve and Halina to stand for a round of applause.
After the screening, Wilma and Bill distributed copies to each child and
grandchild - and basked in the warmth of the thanks and the hugs they received
in return.
It was a night the Hansen's will always remember and a legacy they'll celebrate
for years to come - and Family Legacy Video was proud to help make their video
biography dream come true.

What would you like to see in future e-Newsletters? |
It's hard to believe the Family Legacy Video Producer's e-Newsletter is headed
into its sixth year. We've dispensed lots of advice, information and inspiration
since the e-Newsletter began; hopefully we'll be able to continue for years to
come. We do want to make sure the e-Newsletter is serving your needs, though. So
if there's anything in particular about video biographies you'd like to know or
a legacy video subject you'd like us to cover during the coming year, please
e-mail us and let us know.
By the way, the "Ask Steve" Q&A column will resume with the February issue.
We look forward to hearing from you.
