Welcome to the Winter 2023 issue!
“It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it.”
John Burroughs
Happy Solstice! Yes, the nights (and in many places, the days) are cold. But we’ll now see a little more sunshine each day. Spring will be upon us before you know it; until then, I hope the winter air where you are is crisp and inviting!

Family Legacy Video plays to a packed house.
In 2022, Family Legacy Video, Inc. marked its eleventh year producing videos for the American Mining Hall of Fame Awards Banquet, sponsored by the Mining and Minerals Education Foundation.
“I so enjoy working with the Foundation,” says Family Legacy Video’s president, Steve Pender. “Each year, as I help tell the stories of the award recipients, I learn a little bit more about the mining industry – and I get to meet some great people. Bringing the stories of the honorees from mining’s past to life is a particularly fun and creative challenge.”
This year’s event was held on Saturday, December 3, at Tucson’s Marriott Starr Pass Resort. There were over five-hundred attendees.
Check out the video for the Honorees from Mining’s Past.
